Fine ayurvedic fried potatoes

The potato is one of the most popular foods, because it has many advantages. So it tastes as a side dish to many dishes, it is long-lasting filling and prepare in many ways. Whether boiled in salt water, cooked in the pan, grilled in the oven or fried in a pan - the potato always tastes good. Especially when it has been spiced with spicy spices - as in this ayurvedic fried potato recipe.

Ingredients for 2 servings

For the fried potatoes

  • 600 g potato (boiling)
  • 1 medium onion - finely dice
  • 1 garlic clove - finely dice
  • 5 g freshly grated ginger

Liquid ingredients and spices

  • 2 tablespoons of ghee
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp curry powder
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp chilli (ground)
  • crystal salt
  • black pepper from the mill

preparation

Preparation time approx. 35 minutes

Put the potatoes in cold water, bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Then drain the water, cold-fry the potatoes, peel and cut into slices.

In the meantime prepare onion, garlic and ginger. Heat the ghee in a pan and simmer over medium heat for about 3 minutes while stirring. Then add the mustard seeds.

When they start to jump, put the potato slices in the pan and sauté for 5 minutes, turning them over.

Finally, sprinkle with the spices, fold well and cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes until the potatoes are cooked.

Season again with salt and pepper before serving.
