Ayurvedic mint sambal

Mint has been a highly valued and well-known medicinal herb for thousands of years. Even today, in our somewhat alien world, most of us - though perhaps not the plant itself - so at least their typical fresh-spicy mint fragrance.


For the sambal

  • 5 red onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • ½ coconut, grated

Liquid ingredients and spices

  • ¼ cup of water
  • 100 g of mint leaves
  • 10 g curry leaves
  • 1 ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp crystal salt


Cut onions, garlic, mint and curry leaves, cut into small pieces and place in a blender. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well until a creamy mass is formed.


The mint sambal can be served as a spice to vegetables, rice or any other ayurvedic food.
